Changing the colour of your blog
I clicked on the template tab and enjoyed customising my blog. Now it has this 3 dimensional perspective with a mountain in the back and a glass with water drops over it. I also change some of the text colours and fonts to make it more harmonious to my visual taste.
Recommendations
I would recommend more use of youtube! New York public library http://www.nypl.org/events/calendar is a good example , they currently upload youtube videos in all kinds of subject matters. From footage of events held at the library to informative videos of specific subject matters. I watched one they posted on Art deco, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3YbQxPiK8E&feature=share&list=TLsu13ov8sS0q2hvToGKg_hxsGX0IGAxpv
Another good example is Boston Public Library http://www.bpl.org/ they even have a link for Flicker:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/boston_public_library/
Toronto Public Library http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/ is another example of incorporating 2.0 technologies. They have there own youtube channel
For my local Cronulla Library i would recommend they create there own youtube channel. Here they can post footage of events that have been held at the library or informational and educational videos. These links can also be posted on Facebook. It would also be a good idea to refresh the website and its navigability.

Evaluation Ex10
My local library is Cronulla branch of the sutherlandshire. They only use facebook and a little youtube. On the website you can find information on local studies, children and adult fiction etc however they dont provide additional links to facebook or any other kind of 2.0 technologies. Facebook is mainly used to post current events held at the library or book reviews. I think the reason they dont use it much is maybe due to the size of the library, its not a large facility however they may incorporate more 2.0 technology in the future.

Community Profiles
I live in the Sutherland shire and my local library is Cronulla.
Links:http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Home
http://www.sutherlandshire.nsw.gov.au/Library/Find_a_Library/Cronulla_Library
Cronulla is a small beachside suburb, the population is quite small and it isnt too diverse ethnically.
The library service is for students, seniors and children. The community is mostly english speaking so they don't have alot of multilingual resources. Mainly its used by students and children.

Very interesting video. I think its law of relativity in a way. I see his point but us as humans curate in formation naturally. Usually its about taste! we all like different things and enjoy certain associations with a similar perspective. Some people may not wanna get the same search results all the time! No need to get too paranoid i think its just a matter of understanding the globalisation process.

Social Bookmarking ex6
I think social bookmarking is great. Libraries should continue providing this service. It allows us to search for items we may be interested in and gather opinnions from readers. Never judge a book by its cover. Usually for me there are certain styles of writting i enjoy so this allows me to get more of an insight on a title that may arouse my interest. Yes the library i use has this option available on their catalogue.

Library participation on social networking sites
I believe it is a great idea for libraries to participate on social networking sites. It keeps members informed and unites people with similar interests and a passion for knowledge and understanding.

Library 2.0
Library 2.0 is the ongoing response to Web 2.0, a participatory, networked, interactive, and collaborative community of web users. Similarly, "Library 2.0" is the shorthand for a vast array of initiatives in all types of libraries to incorporate the tools for online co-operation into new ways to deliver effective library services.
Three Web 2.0 applications commonly used by Libraries are Facebook, Twitter and You tube.
